Yes to Life (continued)

Our adventures continued. This time Racheal and I said YES,the key word of our summer fun, (See earlier post) to hiking Stewart Falls. It was a lovely hike, minus the time I almost slid down the mountain and died... thank goodness Racheal was there to save me.
Natural Hiker right here.
We Conquered the Falls. It will be no time before we Conquer the world!
We love jumping pictures, even when are legs are dead from hiking a mountain.
One day as Racheal, Andrea, and I were thinking about what our next adventure was to be, we got a craving for a savory Sno-Cone. There was one problem, they only accept cash or check. We put our heads together and formulated a plan. We would go on a scavenger hunt, and collect items, (mostly just quarters and change. After a few hours or knocking on doors we collected $7. Enough for each of us to have our very own sno-cone. A sno-cone has never tasted so delicious. As you can tell I was PUMPED about our plan.
Thanks for the change! We are on our way to our treat.
Counting our loot. Who knew that in a few hours you could collect up to seven whole dollars.
Racheal and I practiced our Donny dance moves as we waited to enjoy our tiger's blood.

Some may argue I am a better dancer than Donny. I wouldn't go that far, but I guess i have got some talent. :)
This was basically FREE. Tasted better than ever. Another lovely summer night Carly, Racheal and I took a little trip up to the wonderful SLC, where we indulged in scrumptious pizza and gelato from Sette Bello, did a little shopping at Urban Outfitters and walked around Temple Square. Can you think of a better Girls night out. I think not.
We had to figure out this puzzle on the street, which US state is missing. Trickier than it seems.
Dance party in the sweet bathroom we discovered. I Love art. Especially crazy cool art in the middle of buildings. Girls Night Out!

We took so many of these cool silhouette pictures. They were so much fun. We really wanted to find a boy to complete this one... Someday... someday.

Luckily we were able to squeeze a carnival into our adventures this summer, we arrived just in time to witness the Summer Fest parade in Orem.
Unfortunately there was the creepiest scariest ugliest clown man riding a miniature bike. He scared the crap out of me. Can you see the fear in my eyes?

It wouldn't be a carnival unless there are funnel cakes. Yum, actually this one wasn't that great, but still an important part of the experience.
What better way to celebrate summer? Carnival rides and friends. Here we are waiting in line for a thriller of a carnival ride.
Little did we know what we had gotten ourselves into....
It's all fun and games.....
Until that funnel cake starts spinning in your stomach.

The crew. Right before this picture I was being taunted by Terrell and Cary, about a stupid midget clown. That is my worst nightmare.

Summers aren't complete without a movie premier! We went and saw the latest film in the Twilight saga: Eclipse. It was full of hot men, mushy love stuff, and an epic battle. The perfect summer flick! We were pretty excited because we got to see it 3 hours before the midnight premier and we got lanyards. It was an awesome night!
Caity is really a vampire...
After the movie. Look how much we loved it!
In our attempts to experience all of Utah, Carly, Racheal, Craig and I traveled down to Manti to see the famous Manti pageant. Ok, so maybe it isn't that famous, but it was fun!
They do the entire show on the side of the hill that is directly below the temple. Like no show you will ever see!

The Beautiful Manti Temple.
Probably the most disastrous adventure of the summer revolved around the Utah Arts Festival. We found out that by riding your bike to the festival you save $3. How could we pass this opportunity up. At this point in the summer we are feeling pretty confident in our biking skill. I mean we have already conquered a mountain and a lake, why not downtown Salt Lake. Piece of cake right... wrong. There was not way we could bike from Provo to Salt Lake and still be alive so we ventured to my parent's house to put a bike rack we have sitting in our garage onto my Jeep. Well this may sound like an easy task, but it took 4 people an hour to figure it out. Finally we arrive in SLC, bikes safely toed, and are ready to set off to the festival. We hadn't made it more than a block when my bike starts making a terrible noise and starts acting funny, until finally the chain falls off. We walked our bike to the nearest (and probably sketchiest) gas station and asked the cashier if she had some sort of tool that would help me fix my bike. For the next 10 minutes or so I attempted to fix my chain, but FAILED. We were determined to show up to the festival with our bikes (common we save 3 whole dollars) so we walked our bike the 5 or so blocks to the festival.
As soon as we entered the festival all of our troubles went away and we were overwhelmed with artists of all kinds, even a man who painted with his own blood.
It was fantastical. Colors, paintings, posters, sculptures, music and food galore!
One of the spoils of saying yes to life is getting free things. Ladies passing out tickets "Do you like Reggae?" Us "YES." Ladies "Want free concert tickets?" US "YESSSS" Unfortunately the joys of the festival couldn't last forever and we had to return to the car. Now if only there was a faster way then walking our bikes. You better believe we put our creative minds together and came up with a solution. I unhooked the handle on my purse and we hooked it to Racheal's bike. I grabbed the other end and she toed me back to the car. This was probably one of the funniest things we have ever done and I know that we looked extremely ridiculous traveling down the road in downtown salt like like this. IT WAS AWESOME. We made it to the car in no time. I think one of the most amazing things I said Yes to was to this. Amazingly the Hale Center in Orem was playing 110 in the Shade, staring two of the original broadway cast members. We waited in line for a few hours in the heat of the day to get the standby tickets for that night. It was SO worth it. The show was amazing. Audra Mcdonald was fantastic.

The summer has been full of fun adventures and lots of laughs!

Travels to the park and LOTS and LOTS of pictures.
Lots of Friends and fun.
A good amount of exercise. With healthy snacks of course!
The occasional party. You know watching the Tony's and stuff!
Racheal and I discovered we could sit out on the boys roof.
Cary brought out his Swag bag full of Eclipse treasures.
It looks as though I am so much in love with Edward that I have CRAZY eyes... I was probably just thinking about Carlisle. He is great.
Freedom Festival Parade. Aka how many people can we put on each other's team....
Watching some friendly fireworks to celebrate our wonderful nation.

As I am concerned this summer has been Fantastic

It has been a long time.

So it has been a very long time since I have sat down and blogged. One reason is because 3 of the 4 people who "follow" my blog I talk to almost daily, so they know about everything in my life, so why blog. Well these are the reasons I came up with for blogging today:
  1. I am very, very bored at work
  2. I am kind of forgetful and it would be nice to remember what my life was like "back in the day" when I am old and gray.
  3. If I ever become famous this will be a super popular blog. I would not want to disappoint my fans.
  4. Blogs are fun, and the only place it is acceptable to brag about all the great things you do in you life.
  5. It is a great way to procrastinate the things I should be doing, like homework, cleaning, sleeping, you know those type of things....
So here it goes. The fresh new start to my blogging habit begins today.. Any takers on how long it will last.

This summer has been full of ADVENTURE. One of my favorite people in the whole world and brave adventure buddy (it is Racheal in case you didn't know) and I decided to say YES to life (after some inspiration from a wonderful movie staring my imaginary best friend Zooey Deschanel.) Meaning we say yes to just about any thing that is 1. possible and 2. not life threatening. This small decision has been Life Changing we have done so many wonderful and fantastic things. I will show you, my dear reader, the wonderful things I have done so far.

Our adventures started out with simple bike rides (we thought they were long 3 miles... hahah that is laughable now!) and fun times in the park.

Then we moved on to bigger bike rides Like this one.. 13.5 miles up the canyon to the falls and back. This is where be began conquering things. This day we conquered the Mountain.
P.S. We love Gatorade, and lazy people who just sit on their butts and work all day so we can buy our Gatorade from them! We also Conquered the Lake when we rode our bikes 18, yes you did read that right, 18 miles, to Utah lake and back. It was awesome and pretty and tiring and fun and definitely adventurous.
I don't have a handy-dandy water bottle holder, so instead I used what I had and put it in my hood. Worked like a charm.
We found this awesome swing along the trail. It was magical. I loved it. A lot.
We stopped on our way home to get our Gatorade fix and I had to come up with an even more creative way to carry it on the rest of our ride. This is what I came up with. Even better then the first water bottle solution. Oh, and no I am not a handicap.
Then we made some new friends, and we did fun things with them, Like go to Wal-mart where we were told off for taking pictures (like that lady could stop us.) We demistated the classy people that often shop at wally world.Take one- Polygamists
Take 2- White trash/Gangstas
Take 3- Hicks
We also had a spontaneous dance party in the Wendy's parking lot up in Heber. It was a lot of fun. We even got free frosties. YUM.
Next came GLEE parties. This is one of my favorite activities of the summer. (ok, I will probably say that about every adventure, but I can't help it if I have loved this summer.) It combines some of the BEST things, Parties, Glee, food, and Dressing up.
This is our Lady Ga Ga Glee party, lots of candy and cupcakes were necessary.
Dressing for Ga Ga night meant wearing the most ridiculous things possible. Needless to say, I loved it.
Next Glee party was for Funk night. We didn't really know how to dress Funk so we kinda just decided to dress 90's/disco and called it good. Here I am with Caity and Claire. Don't we look Funk-a-licious.

You can fully grasp how awesome and 90's our outfits are in this picture. Scrunchies included! Caity was channeling Blossom, and I was channeling Clarissa from Clarissa Explains it All.
Sadly we started these parties to late in the season, because our next party was for the season finally. In honor of Glee we dressed up as our favorite characters. Look how cute we looked.
In case you can't figure it out Phil was Mr. Schuester, Cary- Kurt, Carly- Sue Sylvester, Craig- Puck, Me- Mrs. Pillsbury, Caity- Quinn, Claire- Brittnany, and Racheal- Santana. We Rock.
Here I am cleaning off my popcorn, just as Emma would.
I love Carly's face in this one. She was a great Sue for the night.

Many other fun things have happened. Like Sleepovers. "The best part of waking up is... YODA PANCAKES."
I played a game of Softball once. We almost won.
I conquered the cougar, although it may not look like it in this picture.
Dylan, Mac and I ate STEAK. BIG JUICY STEAK. (don't worry we did cook it before we ate it!)

To Be Continued.....

Song of the week.

So i have decided to start a song of the week. I have been thinking about it for a while and well what better time to start then now. I want the song of the week to be something that moves me. Either emotionally or just is so catchy I can't seem to forget about it.

This weeks song is an oldie. Its been around since before I was born and although I have heard it many times before I found a love for it last semester. But it wasn't until this week that it deserved the song of the week title. It really just hit me this week and I felt like it was more apart of my life this week then it ever has been before.

I grew up on the Beatles. I have been listening to them well probably since I was born. Thanks mom. Last semester I wrote a research paper about them and my love only grew stronger. They are amazing artist and although they didn't make some of the best life choices they were very honest about their life and their music really has made an impact on the world.

So Here it is! The first ever song of the week:

Thanks boys.

What do you wish?

I love this video. It shows how much hope there really is in humanity.

My favorite is the wish of the last guy. He wished he had started his day with a wish ans wishes to start tomorrow with a wish. I want to start every day with a wish.

Today I wish to have a happier day then the last.

Take the time to watch the video its worth it.

Happiest birthday on earth!

I have had a month long birthday celebration. It has been ... well the only word I can think of to describe it is AWESOME. I have had fun all month long.

The first part of the festivities included and awesome concert. Snow Patrol. Derek bought me a ticket as my present. It was a really chill and fun concert. The band was funny and down to earth. They played their new song, Just say yes, which is my new favorite song. It was only their second time playing the song which is kinda great! I got to spend a day celebrating with the family and I love them all so much. I got the coolest gift from my mom, a V-blade Mandoline Slicer. Check it out. It slices everything. I am slightly nervous I will slice my finger off one day but so far I have only sliced foods. It even slices french fries. LOVE it.
The weekend of my birthday Caity, Carly and I went down to LA and had an epic weekend full of the beach shopping and of course DISNEYLAND. It was magical and so much fun. We stayed at Caity's friend from home Alex. It was an amazing weekend full of amazing people.
By far my favorite part was Disneyland. I love it there and it had been far too long since I had seen Mickey and Minnie. We went on my actual birthday and I got to wear a pin and everyone, the cast workers, strangers, Everyone wished me a Happy Birthday. It was so fun. I sported my Minnie ears proudly all day long. Even though I was turning 22 I felt like I was turning 6. I felt so young all day and I was excited for every ride. The park was all decked out with Halloween decorations. My favorite holiday( well technically it is tied with Christmas) and they had some amazing Halloween Fireworks. I loved them. They incorporated the villains with their music with the fireworks and I light/laser show on the castle. WOW. So great.
Needless to say I had an amazing Birthday. The only thing that could have made it better... If ALL of my favorite people could have been there with me. Next year folks. Mark your calendars. Oct. 25 year 10 (2010) Disneyland celebrates Dannielle's Birthday.

BEST DREAM EVER.

Today I woke up and it was one of those mornings where you wish you could sleep forever so you could live in your dreams. My dream was basically the greatest thing that could ever happen.
As you know from MY TEAM I love Zachary Quinto (Spock, Syler). LOVE HIM. Well let me just tell you what happened it this blissful dream of mine.

I was hanging out with some friends at this sweet beautiful Beach House. Ok it was My very own beach house. (perfectness #1) You could see the waves from my house. All of my favorite friends where there hanging out just chillin. Then all of the sudden Both Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine ( also love him captian kirk... ahhh) Show up at my house. Wow... ok but it gets better. I of course persue Mr. Quinto. And well flirting happens with both of these fine men by all the ladies in the house. Since this is my dream they both are interested in me and they are both trying to get my attention. WEll we end up on a couch watching a movie. Natalie and I were sitting next to each other, then make room for zachary to sit in between us. Ahhh Wonderful right. SO its all flirty flirty la la wonderful and then he gets up to go get something from the kitchen I follow him and everything is looking up because he is flirting back. I go back to the couch and who is sitting in his seat but Chris Pine. Well lets be honest that is nothing to complain about because he too is wonderfully attractive. So I sit next to him and he is extra flirty. Then all of the sudden he leans into kiss me and from then on my heart is changed. He is so great and he keeps whispering cute things to me as we sit on the couch.
Well this is where it gets really good because Zachary got really jealous and well they started fighting over me. Nothing physical or anything I am not a violent dreamer but they just kept fighting for my attention and my love.. Well basically it was the greatest thing in the world.

Unfortunately I woke up before I found out who won my heart. I may never know wins my heart over. If only this was real life.
