So it is our last weekend all together in Siena because starting next Friday we all depart and leave to travel, go home and return to normal life. In our attempts to have the best weekend ever we planned all week long. One of our activities was a Photo scavenger hunt. I asked my mom who is the best!! (thanks agian mom) to make up our categories. We split into two teams and i have posted (so my mom can judge ) the pictures of both teams. It was a lot of fun and we had a AWESOME weekend. We also had our very own Palio. In case you haven't heard the Palio is the biggest thing here in Siena. Its a bareback horse race that takes place in the Piazza del Campo. We started our Palio by randomly choosing the jockey and horses. We put all of our names in a hat and the first 7 names we drew were the jockeys. Then each jockey drew a name and that person was their horse. We went down to the Piazza del campo and each jockey jumped on the back of their horse (when i get pictures i will for sure post them because you can only imagine how funny some of the teams were.) We raced around half of the piazza which was full of residents and tourists. It was a blast. I hate to inform you that the person in second place in the Palio is the BIG FAT LOSER... and unfortunately tommy (he was my horse) and I came in second. Cameron and Hannah were the winners. Next time.. next time, we will win.
